Switchgear assembly lines for power equipment
Sytec designs and builds custom assembly lines and test benches for the production of switchgear and power equipment.
Electrical equipment and power equipment are complex products that combine mechanical, electrical and protection components in a single system. For this reason, the assembly of switchgear, generators and UPS units requires lines capable of managing mechanical operations such as fitting and torque-controlled screwdriving alongside electrical operations such as wiring, terminal crimping and insulation testing within the same production sequence.
Sytec designs assembly lines dedicated to the production of switchgear and power equipment. The stations handle component fitting, wiring, torque-controlled screwdriving, terminal-block assembly, breaker assembly and protection, sealing and testing systems — including lightning arrester assembly and other overvoltage-protection devices. In sequence, the test systems run insulation checks, functional load tests, dielectric strength tests and dimensional controls on every unit produced.
Sytec’s proprietary software also manages the entire production flow and enables full integration with the customer’s systems, guaranteeing complete traceability of every assembled and tested switchgear unit. Sytec’s switchgear assembly systems are engineered to the customer’s specifications and tested in-house at the company plant.
The main challenge in assembling switchgear and power equipment is the coexistence of mechanical components and high-voltage electrical components on the same line. Sytec solves this complexity with the same approach it applies to electromechanical assembly: every station is optimised for its own operation, yet they all communicate through a single supervision system. Industrial robots are integrated by Sytec for handling and positioning heavy or bulky components.

Sytec switchgear assembly lines are engineered to manage the dual mechanical and electrical complexity without compromise. Every system runs mechanical checks and electrical tests in sequence on each piece, with automatic management of scrap and non-conformities. In addition, all assembly and test data is automatically captured and archived to ensure full traceability and compliance with the industry’s safety standards.
Sytec switchgear assembly lines are not isolated systems. They integrate into robotic cells and larger plants, where assembly, wiring and testing take place in sequence with no breaks in the production flow. This way, every switchgear unit, generator or UPS is assembled, tested and traced within the same line.
The experience built up in electromechanical assembly and electronics test benches enables Sytec to manage the production of power equipment, generator assembly lines, UPS assembly lines and lightning arrester assembly, with maximum expertise. Sytec is an industrial automation company that designs and builds systems for all the main industrial sectors, from energy to mechanics, from electronics to the metalwork/locksmithing trade. Thanks to ISO 9001:2015 certification, every system meets the quality standards required by customers.
